Mt. Rainier Rhythm & Blues Festival is This Weekend!

Music >

How does sitting in the shadow of Mount Rainier while listening to some of the best blues music from around the world sound? How about doing it all for $20? Sounds pretty good huh? Well, this Saturday, September 24, at the Mineral Lake Event Center, the 5th Annual Mt. Rainier Rhythm and Blues Festival is happening and they’re offering tickets for $20 this week. That’s $10 off the original ticket price!

The festival features three bands that were finalists in this year’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis: Nick Vigarion’s Back Porch Stomp, The Randy Oxford Band and all the way from Germany, Georg Schroeter and Marc Breitfelder in their only Washington State appearance. Other bands on the bill are Northwest legends Little Bill and the Bluenotes, Deb Rhymer from Victoria B.C., The Red Hot Blues Sisters, Maia Santel and Her All-Star Blend and The Rafael Tranquilino Band who will close out the night with his hot new band. All of this adds up to 12 hours of music at one of the most beautiful places on Earth!

Not only that, but there will be camping and RV parking on site as well as the now legendary bon-fire where professional and amateur musicians can get together and jam. Come early on Friday or stick around through Sunday and enjoy what will probably be the last nice weekend we’ll have here in the Pacific Northwest. Worried about the drive? Fear not because this festival is just ninety minutes or less by car from Portland or Seattle.
