Down at SXSW? You’re invited to come to Brown Paper Tickets’ super secret salons at the Driskill Hotel. You can meet some of your heroes, plus we’ll give you a copy of our first-ever vinyl double set spotlighting Brown Paper Tickets’ artists. Sweet!

Here’s the line up:

Dave Olson of social media dashboard Hootsuite starting things off for us yesterday with one of the most eclectic, mesmerizing discussions on social media we’ve ever heard. Missed it? We’ll post clips as soon as possible on our YouTube channel.

Doug Stanhope, infamous comedian known for vulgar, opinionated and shockingly uninhibited performances, leads a discussion on the comedy industry this Wednesday. While sure to entertain, we also want you to know we’re in no way responsible for whatever might come out of Doug’s mouth. (All the more reason to come!)

Lynval Golding talks about keeping the love alive in a long career on Thursday. Lynval is the best known as a rhythm guitarist and vocalist with the British 2 Tone Records band, The Specials. We’re huge fans. We know you are too. We cannot understate what a rare opportunity to this is spend some time with a music legend. Again, another not-to-be-missed discussion.

Brian Hennigan leads a discussion on making it in Comedy on Thursday. Brian is known for his long and varied career in consumer marketing and creative work. He’ll help show you how he works outside the system the get artists, or yourself, booked, promoted and paid. He’s wicked smart and full of great stories. Highly valuable session for those interested in the business side of creative industry.

PR experts Jo Rae Di Menno (Hard Pressed Publicity) and Janelle Rogers (Green Light Go Publicity) lead you through the ins and outs publicity on Saturday. In this discussion, they’ll shed light on how to get your events promoted, talked-about and well attended. Bring your questions and you’re lofty goals. They’ll help you get there.

All events are held in the Austin room at the Driskill hotel. The space is opulent and comfortable and we provide the drinks. Very intimate. Just 20 people make it through the door.
