The Mid-Week Beat: Live Music in the Great Outdoors!

Music >

2012_keel_john_pickathon_sun_wood-brothers_woods-stage-1399Summer is here and music festivals are happening all over the planet. Just peruse the Brown Paper Tickets website and you’ll see that we have no shortage of music festivals to choose from, whether you’re into experimental jazz or death metal, there’s a festival for you.

While trying to decide what to write about for this week’s Mid-Week Beat, I looked out my office window at the gorgeous Seattle sunshine and thought that the best, and most memorable, music festival experiences that I’ve had have always been when I’ve escaped the city, headed into the woods and totally immersed myself in the rural music festival experience. There’s just something about hearing the music reverberate off of the tall trees surrounding you; creating a sense of freedom and escape that’s unattainable at urban music festivals.

So, this week, we’re highlighting some of the rural music festivals that are happening around the country this weekend. There was certainly plenty to choose from. Hopefully, one of our picks is in your neck of the woods (pun intended!) and you can get out into the great outdoors and enjoy your favorite bands under glorious blue summer skies.

What are you waiting for? Start packing the car and get ready for your musical road trip out to the woods. Tell ’em BPT sent you!
