Friday, February 14 I Valentine’s Day Dinner & Dance

“Accompanied by his four-piece band, Kline brings a little humor and a lot of swagger to the old standards with a fresh vitality and offers a great opportunity for couples to kick up their heels in support of a great local institution.”

“Get your kicks” on Route 66, but wine and dine your Valentine on Orcas!

Dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to swing to the sounds of Half Pack LIVE!, a Vegas-style show band that’s bouncy, fun and well-delivered entertainment reminiscent of the old Vegas Strip when Frank and Dino were kings. Veteran singer and entertainer Troy Kline will be performing in a Valentine’s Day benefit for Orcas Island Children’s House at the The Rosario Resort Beachhouse (Discovery House).

Accompanied by his four-piece band, Kline brings a little humor and a lot of swagger to the old standards with a fresh vitality and offers a great opportunity for couples to kick up their heels in support of a great local institution.

Local favorite Gene Nery will provide additional musical talent to the Seattle-based band! And look for additional local entertainment throughout the evening, including magician Matthew Laslo and young songstress Stormy Hildreth.

A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the event.

“The audience itself plays the role of detective in this hilarious ‘relationship thriller’ about love, lust and the power of deception.”

Join Twelfth Night Productions for a comedy of suspicion and intrigue, where nothing is ever quite what it seems. Is Lisa having a torrid affair with Adrian, her British theatre director? Or is her husband Matthew making it up so that he has something wicked to report to his therapist?

In the final act we meet Cory, the mysterious woman who brings this twisted story to its penultimate conclusion. Or is she also just a figment of Matthew’s vivid imagination?

dandilyonsoupSaturday, February 15 I Dandilyon Soup Reunion Show @ High Dive

“This Saturday, Dandilyon Soup will break out the old songs and perform a reunion show at High Dive in Fremont!”

This Saturday, Dandilyon Soup will break out the old songs and perform a reunion show at High Dive in Fremont!

Dandilyon Soup was one of the many bands that helped shape the “Seattle” sound of the early 1990s. Although they were not considered a Grunge band, there were certainly shared influences.

Through the years 1990-95 Dandilyon Soup released four albums, toured the Western United States playing over 200 shows per year and shared the stage with such great bands as Soundgarden, Candlebox, Best Kissers in The World, Sweetwater, Warbabies, Seven Year Bitch, Gruntruck, L7, TAD, Reverend Horton Heat, Running with Scissors and My Sisters Machine. They consistently sold out local venues including RCKNDY, The Offramp, Fenix, Colourbox, Weathered Wall and The Vogue. They headlined the Seattle Hempfest to over 50,000 people at Volunteer Park and then returned for Seattle Hempfest at Gasworks Park to an even bigger crowd.

With songs like “Save Me” and “Cold Out Here in The Real World” getting heavy play on local radio stations, and with lots of hard work and sweat, Dandilyon Soup built a VERY loyal following through their captivating live performances.

Also performing will be Awfully Sudden and The Rainiers.
