From the UK Office – Edinburgh Festival Begins August 5th!

Arts >

The Edinburgh Festival comes round faster and faster every year…. and it’s here again! There is so much to do and see it can be overwhelming: cabaret, children’s shows, comedy, dance, music, theatre. If it’s live entertainment then it is here and Brown Paper Tickets is happy to be organizing a couple of events ourselves.

We are running football for performers on Sunday the 7th, the 14th and the 21st. Tickets available here.

We are also opening our office doors on the 18th for our Festival Open House. Everyone is welcome to attend both, and we hope they’ll become annual events.

We are happy to have the Forest Fringe with us again this year, and they always provide polished performances. They have made it into the London Standard’s “Top 25 Reasons to go to Edinburgh” which is a true testament to the quality of their productions and they have the bonus of also being free!

Also during August we have improvised comedy in the shape of Emblem: Spontaneous Thoughts on Perception. This is also a free show but you still need to pick up tickets to reserve a spot.

If it is live music you are looking for then you can head to the One Below at the West End which has shows throughout August with Chris Bradley & Dropkick, Six Storeys High & Scott Mellis, Boycotts & Steve Heron and The Deadly Winters & The Hussy’s sharing bills over four different nights. Tickets available here.

With literally 1000’s of shows daily there really is something for everyone. Remember it does not need to cost you a fortune. As well as the free shows we ticket there is the PBH Free Fringe and the Free Festival that run free shows. You can also head up to the Royal Mile and watch the street performers or pop along to the half price hut.
