Jet City Comic Show Brings Northwest Comic Enthusiasts Together Next Weekend!

Arts >

Next weekend, on Saturday, September 24, Seattle will prove once again that it is a hotbed for comic writers and artists when the Jet City Comic Show returns for its second year. This year’s festival takes place at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall and features a ton of comic book artists and creators. This year’s show will also feature a special appearance by William Katt, best known for his role at The Greatest American Hero television show from the early 80’s.

Co-founder James Taylor says, “We’re proud of the fan feedback that we received last year and feel we’ve put together an even better show for this year…Jet City Comics Show is a fan friendly event, a chance for attendees to have fun, be entertained, browse through comics and discover some fantastic artists and writers.”

Some of the artist in attendance include Dan Brereton (creator/artist: The Nocturnals, Thrillkillers, Giantkiller), Nick Dragotta (artist: Vengeance, Captain America: Forever Allie and more) and Dustin Nguyen (artist: Batman: Streets of Gotham, Detective Comics) as well as local artists such as Greg Rucka (writer: Batwoman, Queen & Country), Matthew Clark (Ghost Rider, Superman), Emi Lenox (creator/artist Emitown) and many more. There will be nearly 100 tables featuring guests and up and coming writers and artists as well, so you can be the first to discover the next great comic book artist.

Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite villain, superhero or pop culture personality for a chance to win special prizes in costume contests. So, dust off that old Superman costume and head on down to Seattle Center, I’m sure you can find a telephone booth to change in! If you don’t have one, maybe William Katt can let you borrow his Greatest American Hero outfit!
