Wednesday, August 01 Ashtanga Yoga Weekly Classes Fluid Yoga, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic form of yoga which follows a set sequence of asanas (postures) during each session, which lasts around 90 minutes. In this class you will be led through the Primary Series with clear instructions and gentle adjustments for each asana (yoga pose). Emphasis is on the use of the breath, the bandhas (energy locks), and drishti (gaze), which allow us to work with the subtle energies in the body without maintaining the postures for long periods of time. Our small classes guarantee individual attention. If you can’t make this date there are other dates throughout August.

Thursday, August 02 Foundry Folk Union The Nightingale Theatre, Brighton   A dreamy evening of psychedelic folk and trad ditties about love, murder, revenge, lust and blackbirds. With vocalist Eliza Skelton (creator of the acclaimed ‘Musica Papillio’ at The Royal Pavilion for White Nights, 2010), guitarist Paul Simmons (The Desperate Ones), Emma Kilbey (Radio City Theatre) and guests Simon (Dexy’s Midnight Runners) and Jim Whyte (Oddfellows Casino).
